Sustainable science, sustainable impact

Science is a decisive factor in realising the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. But what does this look like in practice? What specific impact do universities have on the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals - through their research, through practical projects, but also through their own sustainable structures?

THE Impact Ranking by Times Higher Education has been measuring the impact of universities worldwide since 2019. In the current edition of the ranking, the University of Konstanz is placed at the top of the list nationwide, together with Freie Universität Berlin. Eight German universities took part in the ranking.

In an international comparison, the University of Konstanz is in the top group of the best five to ten per cent, in the 101-200 ranking group of 2,152 participating universities from 125 countries. In previous years, the University of Konstanz was already ranked among the top universities in Germany. In the overall international ranking, the University of Konstanz moved up around 100 places in 2024.
