Thurgau Economic Institute (TWI) invites you to the Thurgau Forecast Forum 2022 on 3 November 2022 at 5.30 p.m. at the Unternehmerzentrum Lilienberg in Ermatingen, Switzerland.

Europe is currently facing major challenges. Germany is facing a recession for the first time in a long time, and inflation, the energy crisis and war are causing problems worldwide. Even if the economic outlook does not seem rosy at the moment, the indices of the Ifo Institute and the KOF economic research institute of the ETH Zurich give hope for improvement from mid-2023.

Jan Egbert-Sturm, Director of the KOF Economic Research Centre at ETH Zurich, will present his economic outlook for 2023 at this year's Thurgau Forecast Forum. Monika Bütler, a specialist in political economy, economic and social policy, will then give a presentation entitled "What are economic ideas and methods good for in the crisis? A look into the economic toolbox", she will describe the means with which science can react to challenges and point to solutions. Urs Fischbacher, Professor of Applied Economic Research at the University of Konstanz and Director of the Thurgau Economic Institute, will moderate the discussion.

The Forecast Forum will close with an aperitif at 7 pm. The Thurgau Forecast Forum is open to the public. The participation fee is CHF 70. Registrations are accepted by the Thurgau Economic Institute until 2 November 2022 at forum@twi-kreuzlingen.ch.

Founded in 2002, the Thurgau Economic Institute is an affiliated institute of the University of Konstanz and a cross-border, German-Swiss project. The scientific focus of the TWI is on experimental economic research. Overview of facts:
