Susanne Strauß is Professor of Sociology with a focus on Gender Studies at the Department of History, Sociology, Sport Science and Empirical Educational Research at the University of Konstanz. She is Principal Investigator at the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality”, leading the project “Perceptions of Gender and Seniority Wage Inequality and Individual Behavioral Reactions in the Organizational Context”. Her current research focuses on gender inequalities in the labor market and educational system, as well as cross-country comparisons of the division of labor between couples in both paid employment and unpaid work.

Thomas Hinz is a Professor at the Department of Sociology and a member of the Board at the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" at the University of Konstanz. He is a Principal Investigator in multiple cluster projects, including “Students’ Perceptions of Inequality and Fairness,” “Preferences for Redistribution Across EU Member States,” and “Perceptions of Gender and Seniority Wage Inequality and Individual Behavioral Reactions in the Organizational Context.” His research interests encompass survey experiments, methods of empirical social research, labor market sociology, social inequality, and organizational and economic sociology.

Marco Bitschnau will chair this colloquium. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz and a member of both the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality" and the Department of Sociology. He studied sociology, political science, and economics in Friedrichshafen, Paris, Cambridge, and Neuchâtel, and was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.
