Modules and classes

You can find the times and rooms of classes in the course catalogue and descriptions of the classes in the module handbook.

Important

You do not have to register for classes beforehand.

Modules

The four-semester, 120 ECTS programme is divided into five modules. Each class belongs to a module.

  • Module 1: advanced skills in empirical methods
  • Module 2: foundational classes in Economics
  • Module 3: foundational classes in Political science
  • Module 4: advanced seminars from Economics and Political Science
  • Module 5: Master’s thesis

Structure of the programme

Research Design I

Advanced Microeconomics I or Advanced Macroeconomics I (Students with a Bachelor in Political Science can choose Microeconomics II instead of Adv. Microeconomics)

International Relations and European Integration

Comparative Public Policy and Politics

Econometrics I

Research Design II (quantitative) or Applied Econometrics (taken during your third semester)

Political Economy

Microeconomics II (instead of Adv. Microeconomics for students with a Bachelor in Political Science) 

International Organizations and International Political Economy or Comparative Political Economy 

One advanced seminar

Applied Econometrics, if you did not take Research Design II in Semester 2

Two advanced seminars

Master’s colloquium 

Master's thesis
